Combat is a fundamental aspect of Battleword. While there are different game modes and objectives throughout the Realm, combat will always function the same.
Movement
Holding and moving the joystick icon in the bottom-left of the screen will move your Champion accordingly.
Dodging
Swiping in any direction on the screen will allow your Champion to quickly dodge away from incoming attacks. Doing so uses your energy, which is displayed by the blue bar under the green bar representing your health.
Attacking
Targeting
You may switch between opponents by moving your joystick in your target’s direction. Your active target will be highlighted by a red ring at their feet.
Different abilities will have different targeting methods, from area of effect to single target or a simple toggle.
Light Attack
Tap anywhere on the right side of the screen to perform light attacks. These quick attacks produce low damage and do not consume energy when used.
Heavy Attack
Press and hold anywhere on the right side of the screen to perform heavy attacks. These singular, slow attacks produce higher damage than light attacks, but also consume energy when used.
The gauge on the left side of your health bar displays when you will have enough energy to use a heavy attack once again.
Special Abilities
Each Champion possesses a set of abilities based on their equipped weapon.
Using these abilities requires energy, and they often cannot be used again until their cooldowns have expired or they have charged up. Special abilities will be displayed as red indicators on the ground, varying in shape depending on the attack being used.
Status Effects & Obstacles
Status effects are negative or positive conditions that affect the performance of your Champion. These effects may be applied as a result of your Champion’s abilities, environment, or opponents.
Status effects will display under your Champion’s health bar during combat.
Maps also contain their own obstacles to watch out for.
