Close Background Applications
Once you launch an application, it will continue to run in the background, even after you have left it and moved on to other tasks.
After enough applications are opened in a session, you may notice that your device has slowed down. While you will not run out of memory or battery since Android manages open applications automatically, the performance of your device may suffer.
Here Is How to Close Background Apps in Android:
- Launch the recent applications menu.
Note: How you get to this menu will vary a bit from device to device. For example, on the LG G5, you tap the square button to get to your recent apps.
- Find the application(s) you want to close on the list by scrolling up from the bottom, or left or right.
- Tap and hold on the application and swipe it to the right or up. This should end the process from running and free up some RAM. If you want to close everything, tap the CLOSE ALL button if available.
Other Android devices will allow you to do this in their settings under applications, storage, or battery. Check with your manufacturer to see the best way to close all background apps.
