Upgrading Your Champion

Leveling up will directly affect the main attributes and rating of your hero. Reaching the maximum level will allow you to rank up your Champion to continue improving power, health, and rating.

You will be able to increase the level of your Champion using ISO-8 items.

To Upgrade the Level of Your Hero:

1. Tap the CHAMPIONS button on your home screen.
2. Select the Champion you wish to upgrade.

Note:

• You will need to have enough Gold for the upgrade and available ISO-8 items in your inventory to upgrade your hero. Items in your stash will not be available until claimed.
• Using class-specific ISO-8 will have added benefits by increasing the amount of experience gained per ISO-8.

Rank Up Your Champion

Once you reach the maximum level of your current rank, you will be able to use your available catalysts to rank up your Champion. If the catalysts in your inventory meet the requirements of the upgrade, they will be marked in green.

Be aware that ranking up a Champion will sometimes immediately lower, rather than raise, its Hero Rating and other attributes. This is an intended feature of ranking up from a high level within one rank to the lowest level of the next rank. Further leveling increases within the new rank will allow the Champion to quickly surpass its previous attribute ratings.

It is important to note that Hero Rating alone does not always indicate the power of a Champion. Tier, rank, and level together determine a Champion's effectiveness during gameplay. A Champion taken from the max level of one rank to the lowest level of the next rank may see lower Attack, Health, and Hero Rating stats. This is temporary. As the Champion is leveled, these stats will quickly catch up to and surpass the previous rank's values.

Note: Catalysts need to be in your inventory to rank up your Champion. If a catalyst is located in your stash, it will not count for the upgrade.

Alternative Rank-Up Methods

Champions can also be ranked up through the use of rank up gems. These are rare and valuable items that allow you to rank up a Champion without the use of catalysts (they still require Gold to be used). Rank up gems can only be used on the specific tier, current rank, class, or year of release for the Champions they are designed for. These can be obtained as rewards in some of our higher difficulty content, like the Variant difficulty of our back issues quests. Here are some examples of rank up gems:

Should you accidentally rank up a Champion, whether through the use of catalysts or a rank up gem, do not level or rank that Champion up any further.
