The current resources in Marvel Contest of Champions are:
Units
Units are an in-game currency that can be purchased in the store or collected as rewards from various milestones, crystals, and quests.
What Can I Do with Units?
You can exchange Units for items in the shop, and even unlock special arenas with them. Some masteries also require Units.
Gold
You can earn Gold from quests, crystals, leveling up, and selling materials or Champions you no longer need.
What Can I Do with Gold?
Gold can be used to upgrade and rank up your Champions, and for allocating mastery points into mastery skills.
ISO-8
Also referred to as Isotope-8, these items are divided into classes and tiers which determine how many points they provide for your Champions when used to level them up.
There are two different kinds of ISO-8: basic and class. Both ISO-8 types can be used to level up all your Champions, regardless of class. However, using a class-specific ISO-8 with a Champion of that class will grant you additional progress when leveling up. Each class ISO-8 has a color that corresponds to the six available classes: science, mystic, mutant, cosmic, technology, and skill.
What Can I Do with ISO-8?
You can infuse a Champion with ISO-8 to level them up by tapping the UPGRADE button on a Champion's information menu. Earn ISO-8 by doing quests and arenas, as well as opening chests and crystals.
Energy
You use energy to advance through a quest’s map. It is your stamina, the will to continue fighting. You recover quest energy over time automatically, but you can also refill your energy bar using energy refills. You can get refills from crystals or purchase them with Units.
What Can I Do with Energy?
You will use one, two, or three energy every time you advance one space in a quest map, depending on the level of difficulty. Make sure that you have enough energy to reach the final boss.
Battle Chips
Battle Chips are the arena currency. You will be rewarded Battle Chips every time you win a fight in a 3 vs 3 arena and for some arena-based milestone rewards.
What Can I Do with Battle Chips?
You can exchange them for Arena Crystals, or to unlock special arenas. Arena Crystals contain special rewards and a chance at winning unique Champions.
Loyalty
Loyalty is earned through the alliance feature primarily by helping your alliance members. Alliance members request help when they run out of energy in a quest or to restore their Champion’s stamina to be used in arenas. Helping your alliance will earn you Loyalty. Loyalty may also be received from crystals and alliance event rewards. Keep in mind that there is a limit to how many of these points you will be able to earn per day.
What Can I Do with Loyalty?
Loyalty is used to purchase alliance crystals in the CRYSTALS tab. They are also required to unlock maps in alliance quests.
Catalysts
Catalysts can be obtained by completing special events in easy, medium, or hard mode.
What Can I Do with Catalysts?
They are used to rank up your Champion, in order to increase your Champion’s power index (PI) potential and sometimes to unlock new special attacks.
There are different kinds of catalysts:
Basic catalyst: Tiers one, two, three (found in proving grounds and alliance quests), four (found in alliance quests), and finally five (found in alliance quests and endgame quests)
Class catalyst: Tiers one, two, three (found in daily class catalyst event quests and alliance quests), and four (found in alliance quests)
Alpha catalyst: Tiers one and two (used in the ranking up of 4-star, 5-star, and 6-star Champions, and found in special events)
You will be able to create catalysts with catalyst fragments that you can obtain from event quests, event rewards, and from selling catalysts.

Crystals
The Collector captured Champions from many universes and stored them in special crystals. To unlock new Champions, you must collect the crystals and set the Champions free.
There are many ways to obtain crystals. Each type of crystal offers different rewards. You can get them from chests, special events, special offers, quests, and arenas. Under the CRYSTALS tab, both free (daily) and purchased with Units.
You will be able to create crystals with crystal shards that you can collect from duplicate Champions and rewards from arenas, event quests, and alliance events.
Potions
Potions instantly restore health to one or many of the Champions in your team. You can get them in quests, and as drops from crystals and in the shop!
These items are scaled by level, where level one is the lowest amount of health restored.
Revives
These items revive one or many of the Champions in your team. Revives work on only one Champion and restore a percentage of their health. Team revives work on each member of your team, restoring a percentage of all of their health.
You will only be able to use a revive if your Champion is out of health.
These items are scaled by level, where level one is the lowest amount of health restored after reviving the Champion(s).
Alliance Potions and Revives
These consumable items work like their normal health potion and revive counterparts, however, they can only be used when in an alliance quest and are denoted in their displays by an alliance shield.
Note: Alliance potions and revives will apply only to an individual in an alliance, not the entire alliance.
You may follow the same steps to use these items as the normal consumables. These items will stay in your inventory even when the quest is over, but will not be usable elsewhere in the game.
Note: There is a limit of 15 potions and revives a player can use in a single alliance quest.
These items can be obtained from event rewards, alliance quest crystals, and are available in the shop.
Mastery Cores
Cores are used to unlock special nodes in the mastery feature. You can purchase each type of core in the shop. Unlike Stony and Carbonadium Mastery Cores, class cores rotate through the shop, so not all cores will be available at once.
Cores are NOT lost when you recover your mastery points, and any unlocked nodes will remain unlocked after recovering.
