The current resources in Marvel Contest of Champions are:
Units
Units are an in-game currency that can be purchased in the store or collected as rewards from various milestones, crystals, and quests.
You can exchange Units for items in the shop and even unlock special arenas with them. Some masteries also require Units.
Gold
You can earn Gold from quests, crystals, leveling up, and selling materials or Champions you no longer need.
Gold can be used to upgrade and rank up your Champions and place mastery points into mastery skills.
ISO-8
Also referred to as Isotope-8, these items are divided into classes and tiers that determine how many points they provide for your Champions when used to level them up.
There are two distinct types of ISO-8: basic and class. Champions of any class can be leveled up with either type.
However, using a class-specific ISO-8 that matches the Champion’s class grants a class bonus that provides additional progress during leveling. Each class ISO-8 is visually distinguished by a color corresponding to the six Champion classes: science, mystic, mutant, cosmic, technology, and skill.
Infuse a Champion with ISO-8 to level them up by tapping the UPGRADE button on a Champion's information menu. You can earn ISO-8 by completing arenas, opening chests and crystals, and doing quests.
Energy
You use energy to advance through quest maps. It represents your stamina and will to fight. It automatically regenerates over time, but you can also replenish your energy bar with energy refills. You can get refills from crystals or purchase them with Units.
Advancing one space in a quest map costs one, two, or three energy, depending on the difficulty level. Make sure that you have enough energy to reach the final boss.
Battle Chips
Battle Chips are the arena currency. Winning a fight in a 3 vs 3 arena and achieving specific arena milestones rewards Battle Chips. You can exchange them to unlock special arenas or purchase Arena Crystals, brimming with special rewards and a chance at winning unique Champions.
Loyalty
Helping fellow alliance members recharge their energy for quests or restore Champion stamina for arena battles awards Loyalty points. However, there is a limit on how much Loyalty can be earned per day.
Loyalty is also found in crystals and awarded in alliance events. You can use Loyalty to purchase alliance crystals in the CRYSTALS tab and unlock maps in alliance quests.
Elder Marks
You use Elder Marks to enter higher-value Battlegrounds matches and can purchase them in the Battlegrounds store.
Trophy Tokens
Fighting in the Battlegrounds awards Trophy Tokens, which you can use to purchase goods from the Battlegrounds Store. You can earn them by completing Solo and Alliance event milestones, winning matches, and earning ranked rewards in the Gladiator’s Circuit.
.
Incursion Artifacts
Incursion Artifacts are an in-game currency earned by completing Incursions and related Solo and Alliance events. You use them to purchase items and Crystals from the Incursions Store.
Glory
You earn Glory by completing Alliance Quests with your Alliance. You can use it to purchase items from the Glory store.
Catalysts
You can earn Catalysts by completing special events in easy, medium, or hard mode.
What Can I Do with Catalysts?
Catalysts are essential resources that you use to rank up your Champions, increasing their power index (PI) potential and sometimes unlocking new special attacks.
There are different types of catalysts:
Basic catalyst:
- Tiers one, two, and three are found in proving grounds and alliance quests.
- Tier four is found in alliance quests.
- Tier five is found in alliance quests and endgame quests.
Class catalyst:
- Tiers one, two, and three are found in daily class catalyst event quests and alliance quests.
- Tier four is found in alliance quests.
Alpha catalyst:
- Tiers one and two are found in special events, and these are used in the ranking up of 4-star, 5-star, and 6-star Champions.
You can create catalysts with catalyst fragments that you can obtain from event quests, event rewards, and selling catalysts.

Primordial Dust
You use Primordial Dust to Ascend 4-Star, 5-Star, and 6-Star Champions to new heights. Ascension improves the capabilities of these Champions and allows them to fight at a new level.
Crystals
The Collector captured Champions from many universes and stored them in special crystals. To unlock new Champions, you must collect the crystals and set the Champions free.
There are many ways to obtain crystals. Each type of crystal offers different rewards. You can get them from chests, special events, special offers, quests, and arenas. Under the CRYSTALS tab, both free (daily) and purchased with Units.
You can create crystals with crystal shards that you can collect from duplicate Champions and rewards from arenas, event quests, and alliance events.
Potions
Potions instantly restore health to one or many of the Champions in your team. You can get them in quests, in the shop, and from crystals!
These items are scaled by level, where level one is the lowest amount of health restored.
Revives
These items revive one or many of the Champions in your team. Revives restore a percentage of a single Champion’s health. Team revives work on each member of your team, restoring a percentage of all of their health.
You will only be able to use a revive if your Champion is out of health.
These items are scaled by level, where level one is the lowest amount of health restored after reviving the Champion(s).
Alliance Potions and Revives
These consumable items work like their normal health potion and revive counterparts. However, they can only be used when in an alliance quest and are denoted in their displays by an alliance shield.
Note: Alliance potions and revives will apply only to an individual in an alliance, not the entire alliance.
You may follow the same steps to use these items as the normal consumables. These items will stay in your inventory even when the quest is over and are not usable elsewhere in the game.
Note: There is a limit of 15 potions and revives a player can use in a single alliance quest.
These items can be purchased in the shop or obtained from event rewards and alliance quest crystals.
Mastery Cores
Cores are used to unlock special nodes in the mastery feature. You can purchase each type of core in the shop. Stony Mastery Cores and Carbonadium Mastery Cores are always available to be purchased, but class cores rotate through the shop and are available periodically.
Cores are NOT lost when you recover your mastery points, and any unlocked nodes will remain unlocked after recovering.
